TITLE
Proposal
Proposal is a painting where the artist decides to come back to his most primitive impulses. These impulses are his metaphysical doubts, and he uses them as stamina taking them as visceral inspiration. He rejects any kind of intellectual statement to be in total connection with his paintings. If in previous art works the artist has been playing with the notions of “limits” in a reflexive way, now his narratives turn into a ludic situation, where the characters represent the borders themselves: life and death, material and spiritual, up and down. Proposal is an invitation to look up. It evokes a review of daily life where a spiritual level seems to be waiting for every human being. In this art piece, the artist used anonymous photos that he founded online or in flea markets. He tries to work restructuring new stories and tries to provoke the audience, replacing real situations against inexistent ones.

Backstage
Despite at the moment, this art piece doesn´t belong to any specific series from the Yorjander Capetillo´s dossier, Backstage is another painting where the artist questions existential limits. The show is over. The image tells about freedom and refers to the magic moment when the dancers wander aimlessly through the stage, getting rid of the performance. The characters are gone and the representation abandons the body of the ballerinas, alluding to the borders between the human corporality and all the metaphysic components of arts. Yorjander tries to keep the painting alive. The canvas shows the drawing, corrections and not deleted traces, in order to honor the process. Due to the final art piece can be sometimes overtaken by the sketches, the artist refused to make preliminary drawings. The final result (the art work) should be considered as a residual of real-life experience, and not as a cold superposition of ideas.
