ARTIST DETAILS

JELENA MARJANOVIC

Serbia

“My work is rooted in reality and I use art to express my attitudes towards it and maybe try to intervene and change it. While my paintings are politically and socially charged with topics such as feminism, liberation and non-conformism, they also stand alone as just aesthetically valid. My goal is both. To present a message, to stimulate a discussion, to offer food for thought, but also to please the eye while at the same time making it a bit uncomfortable.”
